Mayor at 33 and a Fast-Track Coming Out

In this episode, we have the pleasure of welcoming Jean-Philippe Boutin, recently elected mayor of Saint-Félicien in the heart of Lac-Saint-Jean. At just 33 years old, he becomes the youngest mayor in the city’s history. Openly a member of the LGBTQ+ community, he shares his personal journey and how he balances his political role with his private life. He reflects on his experiences and what it means, for him, to grow and thrive as an LGBTQ+ person in a regional setting.

Psychology and a Queer Life Mission

In this episode, we welcome a key figure for the regional community: Guillaume Boivin, a clinical psychologist at Clinique L’élan. He works with a diverse clientele and has been trained in trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse health care since 2018. His areas of interest include identity and gender issues, grief, minority stress, and human relationships. Also a member of the LGBTQ+ community, he combines commitment, sensitivity, and expertise. In this episode, we welcome Gabrielle from La Baie, who identifies as bisexual and has worked for several years as a youth worker. Regional Queer Life: Between Butchery and Burlesque

In this episode, we welcome Lycendre, a non-binary, pansexual, asexual, and polyamorous person deeply involved in the LGBTQ+ community. They work full-time as a butcher while also being a drag and burlesque artist, show producer, and costume designer. Originally from Bécancour and living in Lac-Saint-Jean for the past 10 years, Cendre helps shine a light on queer culture in the region—both on stage and in everyday life. Political Activism, Underground Culture, and Queer Party

This week on the podcast, we welcome Bleue, who identifies as genderqueer, non-binary, and bisexual. A multidisciplinary artist, Bleue works across poetry, music, and film. They recently directed their first documentary, The Body / transmutationem, a work that reflects their desire to highlight the beauty found in the diversity of human experiences. The film explores complex issues related to queerness, sexuality, gender, and liberation. Beyond their artistic work, Bleue is part of the leadership team of the REGARD Festival and is also known as DJ Monik.
