Our Training Offer

Diversité 02’s team of outreach workers offers a variety of training sessions for those seeking to better understand the realities of people from sexually and gender-diverse communities. These trainings are ideal for individuals, organizations or workplaces looking to become more inclusive.

We also offer workshops for youth in schools as well as for parents.

Training sessions are offered primarily in person, either at Diversité 02 or at your location.

Diversity 101 – Understand to Better Support -

Diversity 101 – Understand to Better Support

This training is for individuals likely to interact with members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and their loved ones. As the first part of a three-part series, this session provides an overview of issues faced by members of the community and is a prerequisite for parts 2 and 3.

Topics include:

  • Key historical dates related to homophobia and transphobia
  • A glossary of important terms used within the community
  • An introduction to the core concepts of sexual and gender diversity
  • Best practices for inclusive support and intervention

Duration: Up to 2 hours and 30 minutes

Trans Identity – Part 2 -

Trans Identity – Part 2

This training is intended for professionals who may be working with trans and non-binary individuals. It will help participants better understand legal obligations, procedures and best practices for supporting the people concerned.

Topics include:

  • The different components of identity
  • Types of transition
  • Key concepts such as cisnormativity, cisgender identity, non-binarity and more

Duration: Up to 2 hours and 30 minutes

Sexual Violence in 2SLGBTQ+ Contexts: Inclusive Approaches to Intervention

This training is designed for professionals who may be supporting members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and their loved ones in the context of sexual violence. Completion of the Diversity 101 training is required.

Topics include:

  • The specific vulnerabilities of 2SLGBTQ+ individuals to different forms of sexual violence
  • Key terms and concepts related to sexual violence, adapted to 2SLGBTQ+ realities
  • Tools and approaches for more inclusive intervention

Duration: Up to 2 hours and 30 minutes

2SLGBTQIA+ Symposium – Understand, Respect, Include: Towards Services for All

Save the date!

May 17 marks the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Discrimination Against 2SLGBTQ+ People. This date was chosen to commemorate the World Health Organization’s 1990 decision to remove homosexuality from its list of mental disorders — a major victory for our communities.

To mark the occasion, we invite you to take a stand against rising hatred toward sexually and gender-diverse people by participating in a full-day symposium, with training sessions and a panel aimed at promoting inclusive and equitable practices.

When: Friday, May 16, 2025

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Where: Hôtel Delta

Cost: $25 (lunch included)

  • Three inspiring and informative keynote presentations by Henri June Pilote, Guilaume Boivin and Tommly Planchat
